There is one place where a first post is guaranteed, and that is one's blog. You can't miss it. It's a sure thing. Then you realize it doesn't even matter, because especially a FP will be completely disregarded on any blog.

So, what's this blog about, I hear you? I'm a programmer by trade. I don't have the amount of experience some of the heavyweights out there have, and I have no claims as to the quality of my work. I know my limitations, but then in all honesty I also see the problems that a programmer faces every single day, problems caused by the limits and flaws of the tools one uses.

As it happens I found that my frustrations with regard to certain tools were shared by many. Reading forum and blog posts about this bug and that quirk didn't just prove good therapy, some of the opinions did reveal workarounds or even complete solutions. It was by reading other's blogs that I discovered the power behind some of the more recently adopted tools of mine. I just want to give others the same chance I had. And start a new life for me as an online blogger ("hey, everybody does it, why not I give it a try...")

So here you are, this is a Blog about programming, with an emphasis on web programming and databases, not limited to those. There is one persistent bias towards Open Source and Free Software and no, I don't think that will ever change. I haven't been given much of a chance to use proprietary IDE's and programming tools and when I have been given the chance I have been disappointed. So all in all you will read here about PHP, Mysql (usually bad things about them two), PostgreSQL, Perl from time to time and more and more about Mono/C# and ASP.NET. C++ is not my thing, but I have some experience with C.

I hope someone will find these posts useful in the future.

Best of all,
Adamant
